Using scrap 3/4" plywood and 2x2s, and free painted quarter round trim from Re-Use Hawai'i, it cost me $0 in new purchases to make this cubby for my daughter’s closet.

I can't wait to see how this turns out! This is so clever!

Welcome, Julia! :) I am so pleased that you stopped by!
DeleteThis is looking great, it is going to be so adorable! I absolutely love the use of the fabric storage, they bring a pop of color and are so cute! Can't wait to see it with paint! Beautifully done!
ReplyDelete=D I purchased those bins almost 4 years ago, when I found out we were expecting. :) We didn't know if our little one would be a boy or girl until later than usual, around 28 weeks, I think? Thankfully, they fold, so we were able to pack it in our luggage and bring it home to Hawai'i. :)
DeleteGreat tutorial! The bench is lovely and elegant, and I'm loving the trims you used on these pieces for the room. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joanne! I hope it is something she will use and like for years. :)
DeleteLove your scrap bench! Pinned And, really like your blog page design:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michele! The scrap bench was a product of a few days, but the blog page design has taken me much longer to put together, even though it's still very simple! :)
DeleteHey, nice piece! I love that you made it out of scrap wood... very efficient use of materials. Looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment, John! :) We're on an ultra tight budget, so scrap and reclaimed wood is my favorite building material! =D
DeleteYou are so good to build from scratch. I'm sure it's cheaper than buying plus you get exactly what you want. I need to make the time sometimes to do projects like these. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Krista! I recommend giving building a try; you never know if you may love it or not! :) It's definitely cheaper than buying for me, too. =D
